Hello! Welcome to "The commentary in the lyrics!" The "lyrics" will tell you more about each track. It's like what C418 does with his music and makes the experience of listening to this album a lot more immersive. Let's start, shall we? --- This is all of my Medly songs (from 2017 to 2019) in one album for free. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed using Medly. It is sorted by date, then by the length of the song. Note that all tracks have the date of when they were created, not when they were modified; Medly doesn't keep track of when you last modified that track, nor do they keep the date when you duplicate them or show which one is the copy. I have, a few times, accidentally destroyed the original of many songs in this album and kept the cloned one with the date it was duplicated. It doesn't matter anyway, since you still get a vague (a very, very vague) hint of how I improved. By the way, I made some songs a bonus track. The reason for that is because they are so short and pointless that it would sound horrible if you were listening to the album online. The album is free though, so you can download and listen in full, with all of the short tracks added back in. Thanks for coming by. No one really comes around often... --- Anyways, this track was (kinda) inspired by the /r/place experiment. I say kinda because I feel it has nothing to do with the experiment nor the blue corner. The track is also the pinnacle of why I said about the tracks having the created date. I revamped/modified this in (probably) 2019. 2017 is when I created the track (as in the file). It sounds younger than the rest of the ones in 2017 (of which is the only 2017 track in this album), which is why I doubt the times. Like I said, however, it is still a good way to pinpoint the dates of how I got better, so it doesn't matter as much.
2.
Doesn't this sound familiar? Nah! This is the first long track I created in 2018, called 'A New Hope'. Some of the instruments sound a bit too loud, which makes the whole track feel a bit awkward. Every time I make a new song I get a little better, so that's good.
3.
Japanese for 'Frog', the cover was an orange frog toy I got in a kinder surprise egg. It sounds great, but it only lasts 30 seconds before stopping. I wish I added more to this track.
4.
A little tune I made on a Yahama keyboard.
5.
Y'know, it's that one club song that sounds like that other club song. Why did I have an obsession with club music?
6.
It was going to be the first song for an album, but things didn't go that way. It's a really nice tune, but not one of my favourites in this album. Again with that 'high to low noise' ending.
7.
nyan!
8.
:) welcome to japan
9.
ooo spooky ;0
10.
I got no comments for half of these since there's nothing interesting for me to add here. However, I hate the final seconds of this song. It feels weird to have an ending like that.
11.
See, TRAELMYX? I made a more badass version of your song! Even though it's called a mashup, it's not a mashup. The hell, young me?
12.
How nice, I hope the food machine doesn't break
13.
I changed the track's name when I exported it because before it was 'El pito'. Translate it, I dare you.
14.
If you sing Frère Jacques to this song, it somehow fits. Don't ask me why.
15.
This was going to be a boss battle song for the game I was planning to make. The beginning uses a small sample from another song I made, Pianomania. The reason you didn't hear Pianomania yet is that the file created date was March the 26th 2019. It seems to be another track I accidentally killed the original of and kept the clone. It sucks, man.
16.
Lyrics: Got a new dance trend I call it the jumper --------------------------------- This song was also going to be for a planned game I was going to make, with no coding experience whatsoever. At least it has a cool deep bass instrument, going from high to low. Also, my voice is very annoying to me. I really sounded like that? (i mean, there's no difference...)
17.
I thought it was another track that I would hide as a bonus track, but then I listened to it and it changed my mind. Even though it shouldn't sound this good, it really does. It sounds so interesting and curiosity just peaks with its outcome. Every 4 bars the notes get smaller and smaller until it changes course, where other pitches or more instruments are added to the mix and make it sound more complex and out of control. It's crazy how one idea like this can make a song. It doesn't feel like four minutes either!
18.
Supposed to be the sequel to Pianomania. Not the hit success I wanted in my mind, though.
19.
OH NO THE FOOD MACHINE BROKE
20.
working so hard you need to take a break or else you DIE
21.
i_was_planning_this_to_be_my_break_through_song ha_ha_NOPE sounds_a_bit_like_eddworlds_tune_in_some_areas_for_some_reason
22.
The reason it's called Cowboy is that one of the instrument's notes looks like a cowboy. How great.
23.
This was going to be a thing in my not so well planned game where you had to platform from one cog to another. All I know is that this doesn't sound like a clock at all. EDIT (4/11/21): I have evidence that this song was made on ‎04 ‎November ‎2017 (https://imgur.com/a/TF2GIHP). Coincidently, it is also the anniversary of this song. Neat!
24.
Was my game supposed to be a dungeon game as well? Talk about an identity crisis!
25.
This is the tune I was talking about a few bonus tracks back. You can follow along perfectly if you download the album! It's essential for the online multiplayer part of the game I was planning to do.
26.
I've always imagined this on a pirate ship level for the game, where you had to steal back your item needed to beat the boss. Something like that.
27.
This is the reason why the dates are in the titles of the song themselves. There is going to be a lot more unnamed tracks with the phrase 'My Medly'.
28.
I've always imagined it as the hurry up in the game (T.I.W.P.T.M.A.G.A.T.O.C*) and when the song ends, you died. As you can see, I didn't make a game at all. * That I was planning to make and get a ton of cash
29.
Cha cha slide :}
30.
Lyrics: i dont understand you ------------------------------ What a nice track with my voice. The bass makes it harder to hear me, though. Like I can't understand myself-- Oh! No. It's not. I just had really bassy headphones back then.
31.
Nice track with only a drum and some bass. See? I am a drum and bass artist!
32.
This is a very weird track. Over 6 minutes long, this song has some crazy things in it. The windows 98 startup sound, some weird voices from the sound library in Medly and a bit of effect magic can make some truly wacky things.
33.
Lyrics: buy the gamepass --------------------------- go on, it's only 1,000,000 robux!
34.
More like a love song than a jazzy love song, in my opinion.
35.
With a drum beat like this, you wouldn't expect it to go somewhere like that.
36.
Something in this track makes it feel like a morning track. I don't know what, I just know it just does.
37.
Remember when Reddit did that Thanos thing? Yeah, I wanted to make two songs for the people on both sides and release it as an EP. It didn't go well, as you can see.
38.
Lyrics: cmon lets do it --------------------- My bed feels more comfortable though.
39.
"What should I name this track? I know! I'll mash these two words together!" This is one of the reasons why I decided to keep them as 'My Medly'.
40.
Oh yeah, this sounds cool! Something I would jam to or continue on.
41.
This supposed to be a 1-minute only song. It sounds great and has a cool ending as well.
42.
Ignore the Full Mix part, it's not finished at all. For me, it sounds good right until the bass comes in.
43.
That one track that sounds good when you're doing something else and letting it play in the background.
44.
This is probably the point where I got better with my music skills. This track has some crazy things going on in it. The 7 cymbals in the track are spaced out differently by one, making the middle sound complex.
45.
I could've posted this as a separate song, but I didn't. You get to listen to this for free. I like this song for what it's worth.
46.
"Great. Another boss song for a game I was planning to-- Wait? It sounds epic! It's so glorious-- oh the bass part is gone and now we have this aww man"
47.
"what" but louder
48.
Lyrics: HEY JOEL YOU GOT TO WAKE UP YOU GOT TO WAKE UP YOU GOT TO WAKE UP HEY JOEL YOU GOT TO SHAKE UP YOU GOT TO SHAKE UP YOU GOT TO SHAKE UP joel you gotta wake up joel you gotta wake up joel you gotta wake up cmon now wake up WAKE UP NOOOOOOW -------------------------------------------------------- This was for a certain streamer. I made this track without the funny voice effects, thought "maybe I shouldn't let everyone hear my voice" so screwed around with my voice then I never released the song. UNTIL NOW! I'm going to see how long it will take for Vargy to see this. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe in 2021. Maybe in 2030. 2050? 3000? Never? Who cares!
49.
I was planning to add my musical talent to SiIvaGunner, but I didn't really go through with that. This was for a fake PPAP game (yes PPAP) settings music. The joke was that it was a lie. There was no joke at all. That's the joke. LAUGH DAMMIT!
50.
This was also supposed to be the beginning of an album. A different one though. The static sounds bad because I used the wrong tempo and it ruined the whole static when I changed it. Let this be a lesson for you, future me.
51.
I'm just gonna let this play. Gonna be back after this one!
52.
Sounds like a song that you would play at night.
53.
A nice beat! :D
54.
when something bad is happening and you just vibing in the corner
55.
I named this track when it was only 7 minutes ago. Time flies by so fast that you can miss the important things in life without realizing it. Consider this an interlude.
56.
This is one of my favourite tracks. The track has a cool synth and an 80's drum and bass. This was modified a lot in 2019, so no wonder it sounds so great!
57.
On a top tier list, this would be on B tier. It would be on A if the bass wasn't so wacky.
58.
Someone's calling you!
59.
showbiz, baby!
60.
friendly pellets? nah, just some really specific sounding music man
61.
The sounds here were made using Garageband (That dog sound) and Audacity, an audio editing program. I'm surprised that I did well with this one.
62.
I imagine some robots building a complex and scary machine while making these noises.
63.
With the final song in 2018, I wonder how 2019 will go... Wait, I know already.
64.
How happy and swingy! We're all going to die.
65.
This track's cool. It feels like something is going on, but we don't know what's actually happening.
66.
Imagine if had to fight a ghost in that one game about destroying a company with capitalism in mind?
67.
hehe how funny Seriously though, this sounds great!
68.
Like an ending to an album... Wait. We're not done yet! We got more to go!
69.
A milky tea at 5 in the morning...
70.
This track's lead has three instruments, where one is normal and the other two were detuned by a bit. The breakdown is great and overall is one of my favourite tracks in this album.
71.
This song was made in 2018 but I accidentally (without knowing, mind you) deleted the original and kept a clone of the song. I have to use the clone date because I forgot the original date. The song was supposed to be about an old man who "broke into my house and created a music on my iPad and when slowed down it showed how sad he was" or whatever. It wasn't a good story. The song is alright in my 2018 standards.
72.
This is over 9 minutes long, so get comfortable. If you haven't checked out the fast version yet, I recommend you do so. The lore is in that one. Anyways, the song is a little better, but not too much. At least the ending is cool. (why do i keep saying cool??)
73.
"hello world." I wished I went to my past self to say that nothing happened to this. I didn't become rich from this, I didn't become important and I'm still not famous. Maybe that's good.
74.
Whatever this is supposed to be, it has an interesting story. I made this at a car garage, where they had a vending machine for hot drinks. On that day, I probably got over 3 or 4 cups of hot chocolate. No wonder this music sounds crazy.
75.
4pvDN2W.gif EDIT (04/11/2021): The song's date was incorrect and was at least made on 5th ‎July, ‎2018. I know this thanks to my Dropbox (Evidence is here: https://imgur.com/a/TF2GIHP). This will not be corrected however due to how much work will need to be put in to fix a small error.
76.
was going to rap about something but now all you get is a vague title
77.
It was going to be a rap about a green bird with anger issues over people missing deadlines and having a murderous appetite.
78.
The night howls with intensity, and you are in your bed thinking about the galaxies and stars. How bizarre... Oh, how bizarre...
79.
Very bouncy! Love this track a lot!
80.
EAT ALL OF THE PELLETS OR YOU WILL D I E
81.
My right ear likes this track.
82.
One of the nicest songs I made in Medly. Shows you how much I've improved since I started making music. :)
83.
Take a picture of me and throw it away; let the picture take flight to be what it wants to be.
84.
I'm surprised at how this sounds so good. WHY DOES IT SOUND SO GOOD
85.
It's 'Florentine’s' chord slowed down.
86.
Mister Spaceman needs to put his helmet on or else he looks suspicious.
87.
The protagonist is in a chase scene and must run from or towards the antagonist to get the much-needed rubber chicken!
88.
H O W D O N U M B E R S M A K E Y O U F E E L ?
89.
the stars are quiet once again
90.
This track on my iPad speakers sound a bit crunchy; should I be scared?
91.
Please sleep for a long, long time. :)
92.
Something something a cool description of this track
93.
There's no full song. This song will only be in 50 seconds.
94.
Where am I?
95.
This is the best track out of all of the tracks in the album. I could extend this and might if it was worth it.
96.
A spooky thing is rising from the grave...
97.
The little beep at the end.
98.
Happyy :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) my mind is melting from uploading and adding descriptions to all of these songs haha
99.
Dance like you been forced to dance!
100.
And that's it! You have just listened to all of my Medly compilation! (If you haven't, please do so.) I have improved since 2017 (and 2019, of course) and have made over 219 different tracks in Medly (and a few more ;}). I might remake a few tracks on this compilation. I have since then switched to Garageband however and it might sound a bit different if remade. Thank you for listening to over 2 hours and 50 minutes of my music! If you were on the online version it's less than that, but if you download the album it's a whole lot more. Hopefully, in the future, I won't be so hesitant about releasing my music and more people will see my work and I wouldn't have to be so awkward about it. Bye for now! :)
